Edward Laborio (born in Providence, Rhode Island, 1949), is a former professional baseball right-handed pitcher, who played in the minor leagues.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Edward Laborio )〕 He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 25th round of the 1968 MLB June Amateur Draft from Cranston High School West (in Cranston, Rhode Island). He was the first athlete to be signed by a professional sports organization from the Cranston West High School. He played four consecutive seasons in the Detroit Tigers baseball organization. He received the Providence Journal Bulletin, Rhode Island all-state Baseball award in 1968. He is co-founder of the Rhode Island Baseball Academy & Institute. He is a member of the Rhode Island Italo-American athlete hall of fame. ==Early years== Edward Laborio went to Cranston West High School from 1965-1968, located in Cranston, Rhode Island. There he compiled a pitching record of 20 wins and 2 losses. He holds the Rhode Island High School State Record for Perfect Games Pitched by a High School Student (2 games) and the Rhode Island High School State Record for No Hitter Games Pitched by a High School Student (4 games). He also holds the Rhode Island High School State Record for Strikeouts Pitched by a High School Student in a regulation seven inning game when he recorded (20) Strikeouts out of a Possible (21) outs.
